PROGRAMS & CLASSES

JUNIOR

Our programs are designed for all ages and abilities and set in a fun, positive environment by teaching skills, drills, and games through age-appropriate progressions.

 

From the beginner player to the most seasoned Junior Excellence player, ETC offers a complete Junior Pathway program for youth ages 3 to young adult.

An Access Pass is Required for Participation in all Junior Programs.

ADULTS

ETC has a great lineup of adult classes for every level. Program sessions are generally 5-week sessions, with the exception of Summer and Holiday sessions.
 

Sign up for one, two, or more days a week. We offer flexible options each week to fit your busy schedule. Space is limited and is filled on a first-come, first-served basis.

League Opportunities

Matchplay opportunities are available for adult players who want to play competitively. Eastside Tennis Center sponsors several opportunities year-round for all levels including Seattle Cup Tennis, Ladies Flights and USTA leagues for men, women and mixed teams in all divisions.

An Access Pass is Required to Join a League at ETC.

Rob Box

USPTA Certified Recreation Team & Adult Program Manager

Rob Box was born and raised in Bellevue, WA. He began his tennis career with lessons through the Redmond Parks Department and Marceil Whitney. His passion for tennis continued throughout his seasons on the Sammamish High School Boys Team, and on the Seattle University Men's Tennis team where he received a 4-year Athletic Scholarship. Rob played both singles and doubles all 4 years. Seattle U Men's Tennis finished 10th in the nation during his Senior year (1993). Rob's teaching career began as an assistant instructor at Robinswood Tennis Center in Bellevue and evolved into Tennis Professional positions with Mark Frisby Tennis Academy, PNW Adidas Tennis Camps, and The Edgebrook Club. He was a Head Tennis Professional at The Samena Club and Mercerwood Shore Club. Most recently he was a tennis Professional at Mill Creek Tennis Club. He also spent 5 years as the Assistant Manager of Avanti Sports in Bellevue. Rob and his wife Jennifer of 29 years have 4 children, Rob (21), Matthew (18), Alyssa & Sarah (14).

Ted Kim

USPTA Certified Adult Coach & Orange and Green Ball Program Manager

Ted Kim joined TOPs in 2019 as an Adult Coach and Orange and Green Ball Program Manager. Ted was a member of the top 10 team at Seattle University Men's Varsity Tennis Team, where he earned a degree in accounting. After a time in banking as a branch manager Ted returned to his calling as a Tennis Professional. He has 18 years coaching experience most recently at Mill Creek Tennis Club where he directed the high performance junior programs and coaching multiple adult teams to national championships. He cultivated long term private lesson clientele and a devoted following with his high energy style and great command of tennis technique.

Sam Iftikhar

Eastside High Performance Head Coach

Sam brings a wealth of tennis experience at the highest levels both as a player and as a coach. Just a few of the highlights from his resume include:
• Ranked on the professional ATP Tour
• Played in 7 Davis Cups
• Currently active in some ITF pro events
• Washington State Open Champion (2018)
• Collegiate standout at the University of New Mexico (Reached Top 30 national singles ranking & MWC Scholar-Athlete Conference Winner)
• Assistant Tennis Coach at University of Portland (2018)
• Most recently been coaching HP junior locally for last couple years with great player development results

Sam brings his passion for helping junior to reach their goals during not only their lesson times, but also off court with planning and post-match player follow-up. Sam is also a certified fitness trainer (CSCS), which helps with the holistic approach to development of mental, physical and stroke production.

Travis Roach

Tournament Director / Program Manager

Travis Roach is the Director of Tournament play at ETC and the Manager of Program Scheduling. He's a Seattle native, Travis has coached extensively across the region from Ballard High School, UW Nordstrom Tennis Center, Mercer Island Beach Club, and Woodinville Sports Club. As a founding member of TOPs, Travis has been instrumental in building the "Tennis for Everyone" vision at Eastside Tennis Center. “I am privileged to be a part of such a special organization that is Tennis Outreach Programs (TOPs). Our volunteers, board members and staff’s commitment to making a difference in the lives of youth and community is truly inspiring. We, as a community, have a special opportunity now to reach even more youth and at a deeper level thanks to our great supporters, our first-class facility and because of the vision and dream of our founder Marceil Whitney.”

Maria Scudiero

Tennis Professional

Maria Scudiero is a USPTA tennis coach. Maria is a graduate of Washington State University and earned her M.A from Gonzaga University in Sport and Athletic Administration. Maria specializes in early stroke development, intermediate tactical skills to high performance training. Between 2016 and 2019 Maria coached the Pullman High School Boys Tennis and Gonzaga Preparatory School. She has completed certifications in Dave Rineberg Clay Court Training, Gigi Fernandes doubles Training and World Mastery with Tony Nadal.

Anh Li

Red Ball & Youth Coach

Ahn Li has instructed youth tennis classes at ETC since joining the staff in 2017.  He has been teaching 10 and Under Tennis for over 4 years and previously taught for TGA of Greater Seattle. As an avid tennis player, he enjoys competing in USTA league and tournaments and volunteering in the local community to spread the game of tennis.

Tim Wong

Red Ball Assistant Coach

Tim Wong is a Coach and facility assistant. He loves to coach, string racquets, and help around the center.  Tim lives in Sammamish and enjoys spending time with family and friends.

Jeremiah Hawkins

Tennis Coach

Many people are capable of significantly more than they believe. Jeremiah Hawkins has spent his years learning how to come alongside people and bring out their best. With his study of psychology and his passion for tennis, he specializes in teaching beginners of all ages how to truly enjoy their time on the tennis court.
